Tract Idea Richard Church

 1:51:41

know how you can pray love it all right brother you want to give us the gospel how do we how do

1:51:49

we get saved I don't know where I'm going to spend eternity do you have any good news for me brother sure yeah

1:51:56

there's some there's some really good news um and you know that's a that's a

1:52:04

that's a good that's a good place to be when you can admit that you don't know

1:52:09

and uh that that you would like to know because the word word of God has an answer for that and uh so often religion

1:52:18

gets it wrong there's plenty of religious people that have no idea whether or not they're going to spend eternity with the Lord or not um but the

1:52:27

scripture says uh that we all are sinners it says all have sinned and come

1:52:33

short of the glory of God uh there is none righteous no not one and so we

1:52:40

can't we can't approach God that way we we've all fallen short um but God has

1:52:46

provided a another way for us um and the

1:52:52

the verse you mentioned is really one of my favorite gospel verses 2 Corinthians 5 verse 21 it says for he that's God the

1:53:00

Father hath made him the Lord Jesus Christ to be sin for us am as if Christ

1:53:10

became sin uh incarnate on the cross he became

1:53:16

man incarnate at his birth but at the cross he became sin incarnate and that's

1:53:22

a there's a there's a Bible track that I know of where the front cover has a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ with

1:53:29

all of these sins written all over the you know the picture of him and uh um

1:53:35

they did that to to represent that that when Christ was on the cross that that

1:53:41

that man who is God in human flesh uh who never sinned who did not know sin it

1:53:48

says it says he made him to be sin for us who knew no sin right right uh that

1:53:53

God took our sin and put it on him and that's what the suffering of the Cross

1:53:59

was about you know we often focus on what what the Romans did to him which

1:54:05

was terrible don't get me wrong uh but you know the Romans crucified many many

1:54:11

many people y um tortured them in the same ways that Christ was tortured you

1:54:16

know the real suffering of the Cross is what Isaiah writes about when he says it

1:54:22

the Lord to bruise him it wasn't just that the Romans bruised him it was that

1:54:29

God the Father bruised him because the real suffering of the Cross was that

1:54:36

Christ was suffering the Judgment of God for our

1:54:41

sins uh you know if if we if we try to approach God by our works and of course

1:54:48

we don't have any way to deal with our our sin our sin sends us to the Lake of

1:54:55

Fire for eternity okay um but in essence what

1:55:01

Christ was suffering on our behalf was if you could think about if you could take that that Lake of Fire and and um

1:55:10

compress it into those few hours that he was on the cross that's what he suffered

1:55:16

um it's as if God took all of the sin of all mankind of all time added it up said

1:55:22

here's what the just sentence is that's what Christ suffered in those hours on the cross and um somebody asked me one

1:55:30

time you know how those things could ever be equivalent how could the Lake of Fire for eternity For All Mankind be

1:55:36

equivalent to those few hours on the cross um you know if you have if you

1:55:42

have a big bill to pay and you pay it in thousand bills uh is there even a

1:55:49

thousand bill I don't know if there is or not but but if you pay it in that uh you know it's going to take you a lot

1:55:55

less time to pay it than if you're paying it in pennies right if you're paying it in naira naira yeah that's

1:56:03

here and and so Christ could do that as God in human flesh Christ could do that

1:56:11

uh on that cross and that's what he suffered so so he knew no sin but he was

1:56:18

made to be sin for us

1:56:23

it says that we might be made the righteousness of God in

1:56:28

him and you know God accounted something of Christ he imputed something to Christ

1:56:37

that really by right was not true of Christ Christ was not a sinner Christ did not deserve to die Christ did not

1:56:43

deserve the punishment of God the justice of God but God imputed our sin to him

1:56:53

and then what God says is if we'll believe what he did for us he'll impute

1:56:58

Christ's righteousness to us and so uh as Joel sometimes gives me

1:57:07

credit and sometimes doesn't he was made what he was not so

1:57:13

that we could be made what we are not right he was made sin so that we could

1:57:19

be made righteous our sin was imputed to him so his righteousness can be imputed to us and I don't know about you but

1:57:26

that's a that's a pretty good deal in my book if it's God that's making that

1:57:32

offer if it's God that's making that Pro that promise how can I not believe it um

1:57:38

that's what that's what God offers to someone who knows that their sin uh

1:57:46

makes them Unworthy of heaven and knows that they are lost and yet God says

1:57:51

you're sin's already been imputed to Christ it's already been paid for God's

1:57:56

justice has already been satisfied and God says just believe what Christ did for you and he will give Christ's

1:58:04

righteousness to you in in a way that you never have to worry about that issue

1:58:09

again um when if God imputes his righteousness to you then you are

1:58:15

righteous and um that's the that's the promise of the Gospel that's what Christ

1:58:20

accomplished for us and and it's as simple as believing what he did you

1:58:26

don't have to you know you don't have to pray a prayer or walk an aisle or

1:58:32

anything like that but Christ paid the price Christ did the work and we just

1:58:38

trust what he did for us I love that yeah that was good did

1:58:45

you find that satisfying very satisfied I was very satisfied with that I may make a make a clip out of that uh hey uh
